Morto un rider non se ne fa un altro! A Firenze muore un altro fattorino di Glovo durante le consegne
Un altro rider è stato falciato durante il turno di consegna l’altro giorno a Firenze, da una Land Rover. Uno studente di 26 anni, Sebastian, che lavorava a Glovo per mantenersi gli studi, è caduto in strada vittima del cottimo.
Oggi nel capoluogo toscano indetta una mobilitazione dai rider e uno sciopero di 24 ore da FILT, Filcams, Nidl CGIL. In tutta risposta l’azienda ha inviato stamane un messaggio automatico sul cellulare di Sebastian, comunicandogli che il suo account, a causa di un feedback negativo di un cliente, veniva sospeso.
Oltre al danno la beffa! Del resto non è la prima volta che accade nel delivery food che un corriere muore portato a correre sulla strada dal meccanismo del ricatto dell’algoritmo e del cottimo.
In Italia esiste una legge rimasta inapplicata, la legge 128, che dice che le app di delivery dovrebbero corrispondere un minimo garantito su base oraria ai lavoratori del settore.
Circa due settimane fa, abbiamo scioperato con i lavoratori di Glovo e Deliveroo a Milano chiedendo l’introduzione di un salario minimo garantito e imponendo il blocco del servizio.
Le tariffe si sono subito rialzate con l’aumento dei bonus la sera, segno che scioperare serve ed è servito, soprattutto se i lavoratori partecipano e uniti e determinati, ma questo non basta a migliorare le condizioni di noi rider: servono l’applicazione di un minimo garantito e le tutele.
In Spagna intanto Glovo è chiamata a pagare 79 milioni di euro di penale a causa della non avvenuta conversione dei contratti di lavoro, dopo l’approvazione della “ley rider”. Entro la fine dell’anno la direttiva europea sul lavoro di piattaforma dovrebbe mettere un po’ di ordine nella categoria.
Nel frattempo ci stringiamo alla famiglia di Sebastian e a tutti i suoi affetti e ai suoi cari, porgendogli tutta la solidarietà per la perdita subita, che promettiamo non verrà dimenticata e non resterà impunita.
Porteremo avanti la nostra battaglia anche per lui e per tutti gli altri caduti sul lavoro, ai nostri colleghi, agli studenti in PCTO e alle altre lavoratrici e lavoratori degli altri settori, vittime di questo stillicidio.

ANOTHER GLOVO DELIVERY BOY DIES IN FLORENCE

In response, the company sent an automatic message to Sebastian’s mobile phone this morning, informing him that his account was suspended due to negative feedback from a customer.
Adding insult to injury! After all, it is not the first time in the food delivery business that a courier has been driven to his death by the blackmail mechanism of the algorithm and piecework.
In Italy there is a law that has remained unenforced, Law 128, which says that delivery apps should pay a guaranteed minimum on an hourly basis to workers in the sector.
About a fortnight ago, we went on strike with the workers of Glovo and Deliveroo in Milan demanding the introduction of a guaranteed minimum wage and imposing a blockade of the service.
The rates immediately went up with the increase of bonuses in the evening, a sign that going on strike is useful and has been useful, especially if the workers participate and are united and determined, but this is not enough to improve the conditions of us riders: we need the application of a guaranteed minimum and protections.
In Spain, meanwhile, Glovo is being called upon to pay a 79 million euro penalty due to the failure to convert labour contracts, after the approval of the ‘rider ley’. By the end of the year, the European directive on platform work should bring some order to the category.
In the meantime, we embrace Sebastian’s family and all his loved ones, offering him all our solidarity for his loss, which we promise will not be forgotten and will not go unpunished.
We will also carry on our fight for him and for all the others who have fallen at work, our colleagues, the students in PCTO and the other workers in the other sectors who have fallen victim to this stillicide.
